उत्पाद का वर्णन

Customizable Irregular-shaped Sapphire Window for Optical Use

ZMSH Customizable Irregular-shaped Sapphire Windows:

ZMSH’s Sapphire Windows offer exceptional durability and optical performance, with a transmission range from UV to 5µm. As one of the hardest optical materials available, second to diamond, sapphire is ideal for harsh environments, offering resistance to extreme temperatures, chemical corrosion, and high radiation. Sapphire is naturally birefringent, meaning it has two different refractive indices, and so for critical optical applications and imaging systems.

Characteristics of the sapphire window:

(1) It has super high surface hardness and chemical resistance.

(2) It can transmit wavelengths between UV and mid-infrared.

(3) It is thinner and stronger than standard glass windows.

Sapphire windows are very suitable for demanding applications (such as laser systems). The reason is that they have extremely high surface hardness, high thermal conductivity, high dielectric constant and resistance to chemical acids and alkalis. Since the hardness of sapphire is second only to diamond, and its structural strength is very high, the thickness of the sapphire window made by enhanced light transmittance is thinner than that of the general high-dielectric window. In terms of chemistry, sapphire is a single crystal of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), which is very suitable for transmission between 0.2 and 5.5 μm thickness.

Applications of Sapphire Optical Windows:

Sapphire optical windows are precision components made from single-crystal aluminum oxide (AlO). They are valued for their exceptional hardness, wide optical transmission range, thermal stability, and chemical resistance, making them ideal for use in harsh or high-performance optical environments.

Optical and Laser Systems:

Used as optical lenses, protective windows, prisms, mirrors, and laser output windows.

Provide high transmission across a broad spectral range (190 nm5 μm) from ultraviolet (UV) to infrared (IR).

Withstand high laser power and thermal stress, ensuring durability in high-energy laser systems.

Consumer Electronics and Precision Optoelectronics:

Employed as camera lens covers, smartwatch faces, laser rangefinder windows, and sensor protectors.

Provide superior scratch resistance, wear resistance, and optical clarity for long-term use.

Aerospace and Defense:

Serve as infrared detector windows, guidance system covers, laser rangefinder windows, and sensor domes.

Exhibit excellent resistance to heat, corrosion, impact, and thermal shock, maintaining optical clarity in extreme environments.

Widely used in missiles, drones, and satellite optical systems.

Scientific and Industrial Equipment:

Applied in high-temperature observation ports, pressure chamber viewports, spectrometer windows, and plasma process chambers.

Maintain optical performance and structural integrity under high temperature, pressure, or corrosive conditions.

Common in semiconductor processing, laser machining, and chemical monitoring systems.

Harsh or Extreme Environments:

Function reliably in nuclear systems, deep-sea instruments, furnaces, and vacuum chambers.

Maintain optical and mechanical stability at temperatures up to 2000°C, making them suitable for infrared monitoring and high-temperature inspection.

Q&A:

Q: What is a sapphire window?

A: A sapphire window is a transparent optical component made from single-crystal aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) — commonly known as sapphire. It serves as a protective barrier or optical interface in systems that require high durability, wide spectral transmission, and resistance to extreme environments.

Q: What is the hardness of a sapphire window?

A: A sapphire window has a Mohs hardness of 9, making it one of the hardest and most scratch-resistant optical materials available — far superior to glass or quartz and second only to diamond.

Q:What are Sapphire Windows Used For?

A:  These items can be used both in manufacturing applications and commercial products. This polished sapphire material can be used anywhere from cell phone screens, cameras, microscopes, and eyeglass lenses to military-grade equipment like break-resistant windshields, diving equipment, and submarine viewports.
